Choose where your AI runs.
An administrator connects Kautuka to an AI service, chooses a specific AI from it, checks that it works, and assigns it to an agent. You can choose a service on your own system or one online.
The admin sets up model providers and models once for the whole box. Users can choose only from models the admin has configured and allowed.
Keep AI on your system
Choose a local service such as Ollama. It can work without an online account or API key, but Ollama must already be installed, running, and reachable by Kautuka. Kautuka does not install or start it for you.
- Start Ollama and make sure the AI you want is available there.
- In Kautuka, add a connection to Ollama. If asked, enter the address where it is running.
- Choose an AI from Ollama, select Check, then assign it to an agent.
Use an online AI service
Choose an online service such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure AI. Setup may ask you to sign in or enter a key. The prompt and information selected for a request are sent to that service. See the security guide for details.
- In Kautuka, add the online AI service you want to use.
- Sign in or enter the key the service requires, then test the connection.
- Choose an AI from that service, select Check, then assign it to an agent.
Setup details
In Kautuka, the service connection is called a provider; the specific AI you choose is called a model. Depending on the service, setup may ask for a key or service address.
For Ollama, the address must be reachable from Kautuka. If Kautuka is installed in a Windows appliance or another system, localhost in your browser may not point to the system where Kautuka is running.
An administrator manages AI services and saved choices. Kautuka checks what a chosen AI supports; check it before relying on tools or other features.
